ஆத்திசூடி என்பது 12ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்த ஔவையார் இயற்றிய நீதி நூல் ஆகும். சிறுவர்கள் இளம் பருவத்திலேயே பாடம் செய்து மனதில் இருத்திக்கொள்ளும் வகையில் சிறுசிறு சொற்றொடர்களால் எளிமையாக அமைந்தது ஆத்திச்சூடி.
Aathichoodi is a book of justice written by Auvaiyar who lived in the 12th century. Aathichoodi is simply set up with short phrases that the kids can learn and memorize at a young age.
தமிழ்ச் சமுதாயம் நல்லொழுக்கத்திற்கு முக்கியத்துவம் அளித்ததை உணர்த்தும் விதமாகவும் அன்று வழக்கத்திலிருந்த திண்ணைப் பள்ளிகள், குருகுலங்கள் முதல், இன்று பின்பற்றப்படுகிற கல்வி முறை வரை, தமிழ் கற்கும் போது தமிழின் உயிரெழுத்துக்களைச் சொல்லித் தருகின்ற பொருட்டு ஔவையின் ஆத்தி சூடியைக் கொண்டு கற்பிப்பதை ஆசிரியர்கள் கடைப்பிடித்து வருகின்றார்கள்.
In recognition of the importance of morality in the Tamil community, the teachers have been adhering to the teachings of Aathichoodi in order to teach the Tamil alphabet while learning Tamil, from the then-established boarding schools(Gurukuls) to the present day education system.
